The Village Clerk is responsible for establishing polling places, acquiring voting equipment, recruiting and training poll workers, maintaining voter lists, administering absentee voting, and supervising the conduct of elections on Election Day.

Voting in an August Partisan Primary - Make your vote count!

In a Partisan Primary Election, voters may vote for candidates of only one political party. Choose one party and vote only for candidates within that party's contests. You may also vote in any nonpartisan offices and referendum questions that appear on the ballot.

If you vote for candidates from more than one political party (commonly called a "crossover vote"), your votes for partisan offices may not be counted as intended under Wisconsin election law.

If you make a mistake on your ballot:

Wisconsin law allows a voter who accidentally spoils or erroneously prepares a ballot to receive a replacement ballot by returning the defective ballot to the municipal clerk or election inspector. The Clerk's Office must verify the identity of a voter requesting a replacement absentee ballot. This verification may include confirming information such as the voter's name, address, and date of birth, and may require presentation of voter identification.

Deadlines for requesting a replacement absentee ballot:

Regular absentee voters requesting a ballot for one election and overseas voters: No later than 5:00 p.m. on the 5th day before Election Day.
Indefinitely confined voters, calendar-year absentee voters, and certain military voters: No later than 5:00 p.m. on the Friday before Election Day.
In-person absentee voters: No later than the close of in-person absentee voting hours, as established by the Type E notice.
Voters receiving ballots during a Special Voting Deputy visit: No later than 5:00 p.m. on the Monday before Election Day.
Hospitalized voters, certain military voters serving away from home, and sequestered jurors: No later than 5:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Election Day voters: If you make a mistake on your ballot before casting it, notify an election inspector immediately. The spoiled ballot will be exchanged for a replacement ballot.

A voter may only receive two replacement ballots, for a total not to exceed three, in each election pursuant to Wis. Stats. 6.80(2)(c).

Absentee Ballot Requests

Voters may request absentee ballots by mail at MyVote Wisconsin. If preferred, click here for the Absentee Ballots request form. For regular and overseas voters, the deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is the 5th day preceding the election.

On the My Voter Info tab on MyVote Wisconsin, you may track your Absentee Ballot Request.

When requesting absentee ballots in person, pursuant to Wis. Stats 6.86(1)(b), the absentee ballot application shall be made no earlier than 14 days preceding the election and no later than the Sunday preceding the election.

Polling Location on Election Day

Voter Registration

Voters may register and verify their current registration status at MyVote Wisconsin. Pursuant to State Statute 6.28(1), electors registering to vote online must complete registration by no later than 11:59 p.m. on the 3rd Wednesday before the election.

If preferred, electors may register by mail by submitting the Voter Registration form with proof of residency. Pursuant to State Statute 6.28(1), electors submitting registration by mail, must have their registration postmarked no later than the 3rd Wednesday before the election.

Voters may register in person at Village Hall, 204 First Street, up to the Friday preceding the election or on election day.
